When changing password on a specific workstation on a Notes roaming profile, the password is not push to the Notes user profile. If I change the workstation I have to use the previous password. Any idea?
Note: this is a brand new user I create to test the password change.

Notes stores the password (ID file) in the Notes\Data directory on the local machine and not in the profile. One way around this, is to move the ID file to a central location, such as a user’s home directory and point Lotus to use that ID and not copy it to the local directory. Just make sure to point all Lotus installs that the user will be using, to the same ID file and the password should be the same on both machines. I wish that the password would be stored in the roaming profile, but, it’s not.

You are talking about a none “Multi-User” installation of Lotus Notes. Multi-User intalltion of Notes create a Data dir for any users that are using the machine, copy files locally the first time and then using it locally (id file included). I’m sure there is an other way then the one you describe, if not why Lotus create the roaming profile anyway? It is a none sense if it’s not possible to push back the password, a none sense!

Although I haven’t tested this, the roaming configuration supports storing the ID file in the personal address book, which is in turn stored in the profile.
btw, make sure that any machines used by roaming users are installed as multi-user machines, or users wil overwrite and/or share each others’ local files.

I opened a call to IBM about this situation, it turns out that my problem is a “bug” with version 6.x that will be resolved in version 7.x
