On a PC where a user has allready been using the notes clientwe set up roaming notes config by copying the below files to \Notes\Data
xxxxxx.id (where this is the user’s unique Notes id file)
bookmark.nsf
desktop6.ndk
notes.ini
names.nsf
we edit the notes.ini file to point the directories to \notes\data
We then have the shortcut to notes.exe set so it starts in \Notes\Data
then finally delete all the files that are listed above from the C:\
this then allows the user to log onto any machine in our network and have there own notes “profile”
OK, now the problem.
We have to set up a group of users…approximately 50+
these users have a notes ID and password, however they have never logged onto a notes client before.
I would like to know if it is possible to use a similar set up process to what I described above.
I have attempted it, however the files are obviously tied into the specific userID’s.
is it possible to have a “blank” names and bookmarks.nfs files?
We can sort out the individual notes.ini files, directories, and shortcuts easily enough, but when we try and use the same names.nsf files etc etc, we can login as the “new user” but the original persons bookmarks / mail appears ![]()
We would like to do it this way so there is a minimal amount of configuration the users need to do (preferably none at all)
thanks for any help.
