Roaming ID problem

Hi All, 2 questions…

If a user is created with roaming or is upgraded to roaming but when created or upgraded does not have the “Store ID in Address book” option selected, how does the administrator later upgrade the user or modify the roaming setup so that this is enabled?

It seems to me that you have to disable roaming, delete the roaming files, and re-enable roaming to accomplish this which is quite clunky. Is this the only way?

In addition, during user setup, you have the option to create cluster replicas of the roaming files however if you’re upgrading a user to roaming you don’t have this option. You’d have to manually create replica’s on the cluster member. Or am I just missing the option?

Don’t have an answer to your first question.

Regarding your 2nd question: when you upgrade the user to roaming, you do have the option to set up roaming in a cluster.

From the Admin Help DB:

Setting up existing users for roaming in a cluster

Note You cannot use the Web Administrator to set up existing users for roaming.

  1. From the Domino Administrator, click the People & Groups tab.

  2. In the Task pane, click People.

  3. In the Results pane, select the people you want to give the ability to roam.

  4. In the Tools pane, expand People, and then click Roaming.

  5. In the “Where should the users roaming files be stored?” section, select the Roaming Server button to make it active, and then click the Roaming Server button.

  6. Select a cluster server as the Roaming server. Domino displays a list of all the servers in the cluster.

  7. Select the additional servers you want to receive replicas, and then click OK.

  8. Complete the rest of the fields the way you normally would when you upgrade a user for roaming, and then click OK.
