Recently completed an upgrade from Domino 6.5.6 to Domino 8.0.1. There are 3 Resource Reservation databases and converted them all to the R8 template before starting the RnRMgr task. After starting RnRMgr everything seems to be working fine except that in the log we are getting the following error messages for several databases…
RnRMgr: The design of dir/dbname.nsf is not one supportable by RnRMgr. Autoprocessing is being disabled for this dB.
All of these databases are in a subdirectory off of the Domino data directory and they are all using the iNotes6 template.
I’ve looked at the Sites docs in all of our Resource Reservation databases and none of them are pointing to any of these databases. For the life of me I can’t figure out why RnRMgr is trying to process these db’s. It’s quite possible that I’ve just gone brain-dead and am missing something painfully obvious but any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
TIA!

Ok, that error message is printed out when the RnRMgr finds a dB that has R&R profiles in them but the dB design is pre-R7 R&R (or not R7+ R&R really). So in your case, dir/dbname.nsf was identified as having at least 1 profile doc for an R&R entity (based on NAB data).
To avoid any problems with pre-R7 R&R template, the RnRMgr makes sure that the template used for the dB does NOT contain possible elements that it should not (eg: pre-R7 R&R templates have logic that is invalid in R7 and can cause problems for R&R so the dB is ignored until the design is replaced).
To fix, simply replace the design of the dBs w/the current R&R template and it will go away (and your R&R in that dB will be usable finally).
If you are seeing this on non-R&R dBs then somehow they contain profile docs for R&R entries that match the NAB and you should figure out why/how you managed this.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the db’s that are causing the error to be thrown are not based on the R&R template… they’re all based on the iNotes6 mail template.
I am here in a contractor capacity helping the company through the server migration and a few other projects. Their Notes admin. quit a couple of years ago and the guys who were tasked with taking over his responsibilities (after a 2 month period where they had no Domino admin and more than 3000 Notes users) were entirely new to this and have had to teach themselves using the Admin Help DB. While they have jumped into the task and brought themselves up to speed quickly the entire Domino environment is a mess from neglect and poor administration habits by the previous admin. That’s all a long way of saying I have no idea how/why those mail db’s would have profile docs for R&R entries matching the NAB but I will try to find them.
Again, thanks for the reply.
Cheers!
