I have been searching all day. I just created a new database. One of my users, uses the Right Double-click closes window option.
In the rest of the databases that we have using Rd-c after editing a document will bring up the Do You Want To Save box.
For some reason it does not do this in the new database I created. Instead the Rd-c will close the window only without asking if you want to save.
I cannot find in the Database Properties, nor in the form Properties anyplace to select to allow the Rd-c to bring up this do you want to save.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I thought (shouldn’t do that, it hurts too much) that it would be relatively easy to compare two databases one that does display the save and the one that doesn’t and find it, but no luck.
Yes, I checked. He has gone in and put the form in edit mode. Made a change on the form and did the right double click. No save box comes up.
There is a saveoptions field but it is set to 1.
I have found out that if you put the form in edit mode, make a change and hit the Escape button it also does not bring up the Save box and does not save the change.
On PostModeChange, delete the saveoptions field…Sub Postmodechange(Source As Notesuidocument)
Dim Ws As New NotesUIWorkspace
Dim Uidoc As NotesUiDocument
Dim Doc As NotesDocument
Set uidoc = ws.CurrentDocument
Set doc=uidoc.Document
If doc.SaveOptions(0) = "1" Then
doc.SaveOptions=""
Call uidoc.Reload
End If
End Sub
Or delete it manually, and see if you have the same problem.
(@Deletefield may be useful)
If it works with the deleted SaveOptions field, and you still need a save options field, then delete saveoptions as a ‘proper’ design element, and simply create it on the backend whenever you need it…
I tried putting the code in and then tested. If you put it in edit, make a change, then close the form the save dialog still does not come up.
I tried removing the SaveOption from the form completely. Again, if you place in edit, make a change, close form the save dialog still will not come up. The only way to save is to do the Cntrl S, or hit the Save and Close button.
To get around this I can place a save close event so that the document will be saved no matter what, but I still need to know why I am not getting the save dialog box as I do in every other database??
Thanks much
Teri
PS – SOLVED – Taking out the SaveOptions field complete is how I solved this issue. I have used SaveOptions field in the past without this issue coming up, so I will re-read and test SaveOptions.
