I am working on an agent that will send newsletters with content from several documents.
I think - hope - I will have no problems retrieving and encoding the contents of a RichText field with “Set contents as HTML and MIME” enabled.
My problem is that I would also like to get contents in plaintext to send a text/plain alternative for those customers who have their mail clients set to only text.
I’ve tried several approaches: creating a computed RichText field with the value of the Body field without storing the contents as MIME , copying the formatted text of the Body field to another field - this fails, of course because the Body field is not a richtextitem with the MIME settings enabled, and so on…
Does anybody have a hint on how I can retieve the formatted text?
The only thing that has kind of worked has been a computed text field but line breaks dissapear.
