Any of TinyMCE, FCKEditor or Xinha will do for rich text n a web-only application, but if you actually want to edit from both Notes and the web, there really is no free solution – you’ll need to seriously consider the CoexEdit solution from Genii Software ( Genii Software | AppsFidelity ). Without the back-end shenanigans that Ben Langhinrichs provides you, you WILL lose data and formatting going back and forth between Notes and the web.

If you select “Web Access” “Display” for the RTF field to use Java Applet, I think it gives you a very basic richtext editor.
