Rich Text Editing in the browser - what is Lotus doing?

Has Lotus done anything new in the last few years in respect to enhancing rich text editing facilities in the browser (for instance, inserting images, tables etc).

Since Lotus Domino is touted as an enterprise solution for content management etc etc…is it asking too much for the above capabilities to be incorporated in some shape or form (even using plug-ins if need be as we have in Documentum)…I appreciate that Lotus needs to protect QuickPlace and Notes seats by making the proprietary clients/products more functional, but is this a good enough reason for not coming up with anything new.

Any advice (whether its in r6) or details of alternative offerings (from IBM say) would be greatly appreciated.

P.S I have seen the postings in the sandbox which use the active-x control, but this has serious shortcomings (control over security, compatability with Notes rich text editing, deleting images etc)…and I have seen the QuickPlace controls (but these are no good in QuickPlace, I need something custom built using Notes/Domino)

HiDo you know the Richtext Editor for IE?

I think it is a quite good solution.

I do not remember where I found it, but you can have a copy from me. Just send me an email.
