Rewrite reporting function to use Notes Symphony instead of Excel

I currently have code written in LotusScript that uses OLE objects to populate an Excel spreadsheet and create pivot Charts from a Lotus Notes view. Is there an easy way to rewrite this code to create a Symphony file instead of an Excel file? Or do I have to start from scratch?
