In the call it was mentioned that a higher mail template version than the client will not experience any issues. So I’m clear, I want to confirm that on a Domino 8.5FP1 server I can deploy the 8.5 mail template while the users are still on the Notes 8.0.2 Standard client. My understanding is that some newer features may not be available, but everything that worked in the 8.0.2 template design will still work. I want to do this to take advantage of the iNotes improvements.Thank you!

Yes, that’s the environment that I’m currently running, I’ve got an 8.5FP1 server and 8.02 clients and the client mailfiles are using the new 8.5 template. What’s nice is the webmail portion of the template looks very nice and allows you to set the “Remember Me” cookie (Thanks, IBM!). On the client side, it’s the same old mailfile as far as the clients are concerned.
