$$ReturnGeneralError page cannot be displayed

I have a $$ReturnGeneralError form that has the following code on it:

<BODY bgcolor="white"; font-family: verdana, geneva, arial, helvitica, sans-serif;
font-size: 9px;

}>

[MessageString]

Go Back

where [MessageString] is a computed text field with a value of MessageString

I have a web form that has some validation in the text field’s Input Validation area. So when I type in garbage in say a date field and click the Save button I get a page that says - HTTP Web Server Lotus Notes Exception - Unable to interpret Date or Time.

However other users get an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error The Page cannot be displayed error page.

What gives? Any ideas on what I’ve overlooked?

TIA!

Any thing related to access of the form to the users?

Possibly, but there is another developer in the same DEV-ADMIN group that I am in on the database ACL that gets the page cannot be displayed error, that’s why I’m unsure if it’s an ACL issue.

The actual $$ReturnGeneralError form on the Security tab I have checked all readers and above, all authors and above, and even checked available to Public Access users.

Hi,

Try to use $$ReturnAuthenticationFailure and $$ReturnAuthorizationFailure Forms also.

May be after using these Forms, it will show different message to the other users. Just chk with that.

Thanks,

Subject: Works Now! $$ReturnGeneralError page cannot be displayed

I deleted the $$ReturnGeneralError page that I had copied from one database to this one and just started from scratch and created a new form. When in doubt recreate!
