Hi All, the “Return Receipt” works for emails that are sent to internal users. When trying to send an email to an external email with the “return Receipt” checked, I do not get a return acknowledgement. Hate to say this… but, Outlook works when sending internal and external email addresses.
Should their be a setting to allow this within Domino? I have looked at the server doc and can’t seem to find any such setting. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong spot…
Thanks,
Hamid

I have no idea why, but it’s never worked for us either.
Subject: Technote - 1196849 Is it Possible to Ensure a Return Receipt from External Recipients?
ProblemWhen Notes users enable the “Return Receipt” delivery option for messages sent to external users, you would like to ensure that recipients of the messages generate a return receipt. Is this possible?
Solution
This functionality is not controlled by Notes/Domino. The “Return Receipt” functionality depends on the receiving system both supporting and allowing this feature. For further information, refer to the following excerpt from the Notes Help database topic “Specifying delivery options for mail”:
To confirm that a message is opened (return receipt)
If a recipient's mail client supports this feature, you can have Notes notify you when the recipient either reads, deletes, or prints a message you sent. Many Internet mail programs support return receipts. However, even if a recipient's mail client supports this feature, the recipient's organization may not allow it for security reasons.
Subject: There is a setting in Configuration document
In configuration document,
MIME->Conversion Options->General
Return receipt (disabled by default)
