I’m using a solution similar to that described at the following site to process selected documents on the web:
http://www.codestore.net/store.nsf/unid/EPSD-5GMT3B?OpenDocument
This works fine except that I’d like to have a confirmation message displayed when the processing completes. I’ve added a $$Return field (computed to itself) to the $$ViewTemplate that’s used to select the documents. However, when processing completes, the default message ‘Form submitted’ is not displayed. I’ve also tried adding $$Return (computed to itself) to the form of a response document that’s created by the $$ViewTemplate, but again, no message is displayed.
Here are some additional details:
The $$ViewTemplate has a form action with the following code:
functionName(window.document.forms[1],‘parameter’);
This function appears in the JSHeader of the $$ViewTemplate as follows:
function functionName( frm, parameter ) {
frm.fieldName.value = parameter;
frm.submit();
}
The form of the response doc runs an agent in its WQS based upon which parameter is passed.
The WQS does not attempt a save and there is no output generated by the processing which might interfere with the $$Return.
It’s my understanding that a JavaScript ‘submit’, like @Command([FileSave])and @Command([FileCloseWindow]) should invoke $$Return as well as the WQS. It’s therefore not apparent why $$Return is not displaying a ‘Form submitted’ message under the scenario I’ve described. I’d appreciate any ideas on this.
Thanks.
