Is there a way to retrieve the password of the current user?

No. That would be terribly insecure. Even the id file does not “know” the password, but simply recognizes that the password passed through an algorithm matches the stored post-algorithm version of the password, so it cannot be deduced that way.

But potentially you could prompt the user to enter their password and and send an encrypted copy of it back to you or put it into a form…not making any comments on whether this is good or bad…just an idea…
