I need to retreive data from an RTF, without losing the formatting, and display it on a web page.
For example, say I have form SMQ (survey main question), which has a field called SectionHeader_RT. This data has to be displayed every time an SSQ (survey sub question) form is displayed on the web.
Right now, I’m just inheriting the field onto SSQ. But the rich text data changes and inheriting leaves me no way to update SSQ documents (plus, who wants the duplicate data).
So how can I display the SectionHeader_RT data at the top of the SSQ form?
Thanks for all help.

Take a look at the NotesRichTextRange class Examples in the Designer Help, it allows you to extract parts of a Rich Text field with formatting.

How will that help me? I need to display the RT on web pages, where I don’t have LotusScript.

You DO have LS before service and after submission, though. Mika’s suggestion would write the LS to the document before it’s served to the web (probably using a WQO agent).

If I’ve understood you correctly, you have a ‘master’ doc with the RT you want every time a ‘slave’ doc (or docs) get displayed? How about puting an iframe at the top of the webapge with a <src=> the rt document that ytou want displayed?

Thanks for the suggestions.
Unfortunately, priorities were changed overnight (for the second time this week!). So it’ll be a bit before I can report back.

Easy solution (how did I miss it): You do a dblookup from a computed RTF to an RTF by using the fieldname option of dblookup (instead of the column number). Thus, the lookup is performed from an RTF to an RTF and retains all formatting, plus all the results of computed text in the source RTF.
