I have a database form in which users have editor access. However, I would like to restrict changes from being made to a particular date field after the document has been saved. The purpose is to prevent users from changing the date field which is being used to calculate how long an item has been outstanding. If pressed for an item, they might decide to go back into the record and simply change the date so that it’s not outstanding. Any ideas on the best solution for this considering they all need editor access? My first thought is to use a hide/when formula that reads !@IsNewDoc but I do want them to SEE the field just not be able to edit the contents.

So, use the hide formula you had in mind and then have another item (either a computed for display field or a computed text area) that is shown when the document is not new.

Not even an Editor can edit a Computed field. Set the field to compute on save if the document is a new document, using the @now and precede the formula to see if the Field already has a date, if it does have a date return the date otherwise compute the date.EXAMPLE

Thanks for the response. Yes, the dates being entered are various dates from the past. Your idea of using @Today as a computed field would work perfectly otherwise.
