Restrict archive on server

I discover more and more users to archive the mail file to the server. Can someone advise me how to restrict the users to archive the mail file on their local drive only.

Thanks,

Ray

Yes. I have since a long time. Do you still require help in setting this up?

I would strongly recommend you start by going to the Security tab of the server document and limiting who can create new or replica databases. You want to put your admin group in there and the server, and you can optionally include LocalDomainServers and OtherDomainServers, depending on how the server is used.

After you do this, search the admin help for “archive policy”. This assumes the clients are using R6.

Charles,

Thanks for your advice. I have succesfully completed the first part. On second part of archive policy, I cannot create the archive document and received an error message saying that You are not authorized to add Archive Policy documents to the Domino Directory once I attempted to do so. I have administrator right. Could you please how to get the right for this task.

Thanks,

Ray

Sorry to take so long to get back to you.

In the ACL of the Domino Directory on the server make sure you have all the Roles checked for youself. If you upgraded from R5 to R6 you are missing all the ones that apply to policies.
