Because it is bad etiquette to cross-post. Cross-posting is just extra noise and fragments answers. People invest time in crafting an answer. With cross-posting, it is very likely that one’s answer will simply be a replication of someone else’s efforts in a different forum. Nobody likes to waist time.
In addition, it makes it harder to respond correctly, if you post in the ND6/7 forum, the people who post will assume that you are using that version, and tailor the answer for that version. There may be a much better/easier way to do it in Notes 8.5, but the person answering may not bring that solution up, since he/she assume that you post in teh forum for the version you are using.
But you are right, I don’t have to answer those questions. And I probably won’t, if someone is too stupid to post in the proper forum for their version of Notes, they are probably:
a) too stupid to understand the answer
b) too stupid to work in IT in general or as a programmer/admin in particular
