I have an odd situation, and have only found one posting that comes close. (See below)
I have an individual who sent an invitation out to about 50 people. The responses started to come in. One delegate then repeatedly responded (1 Acceptance, 3 Declines, 1 Request for more information). In between the 3rd decline and the request for more information, a decline notice appeared in the inbox of ALL the invitees and appeared to be from the chairperson. When checking the properties, I found that the ‘From’ field lists the delegate who couldn’t decide how to respond.
Please let me know if you have seen anything like this, and, better yet, if you have found out why it happens.

I can’t help but I wanted to post a response because we have had the same issue.
A perfectly normal invitation seemed to be declined by the chair although that person could not have declined it since he was on the road at that time. After some investigation I found out that the decline was sent from a different server than his home mail server and there were some references to another invitee. I think that the invitee declined the invitation and for some reason, the decline was sent to all other invitees as the chair. Very strange !
Most clients here are 6.5.x on R6.5.1 mailservers.
Looking forward to get a possible cause.
