ahhhhhhhhhm it’s not the same thing. You should NEVER put the reservation db on a cluster. Your problem is probably there, your cluster is not fast enough to update the “time slot”, so you have over booking.
How many cluster replicator do you have?
Technote 1096949
Should the Resource Reservations database be clustered?
In Domino 7.x:
The Free Time system is clustered. And a new task named the “RnRMgr task” allows for clustering the Resource Reservations database.
In Domino 5.x and 6.x:
The Free Time system is clustered. However, Lotus strongly recommends that system administrators do not cluster the Resource Reservations database.
The Resource Reservations database should NEVER be clustered, even in a failover scenario. The reason is because Clubusy.nsf gets updated only on the server that hosts the Resource Reservations database (that is, the server that the Resource Reservations database was created on). If that server goes down, and users are now making reservations on the failover server, double books are highly likely to occur because the Sched task on the cluster mate is not designed to update the Clubusy.nsf on a clustered server. This issue has been reported to Lotus Software Quality Engineering but was determined not to be a bug. The Sched task updates the clubusy only on the server that hosts the Resource Reservations database.
When using a mixed environment of R4 and 5.x or 6.x Domino Servers, the Calendaring & Scheduling functionality will take on the characteristics of the R4 environment; therefore, you cannot cluster the Free Time system. Clustering the Free Time system is a feature only with Domino 5 and Domino 6.
In Domino 4.5x and 4.6x:
The Free Time system is not clustered, nor is the Resource Reservations database.

In R5 reservations in resource db was managed by an agent (scheduled) which could lead to double bookings if the agent didn’t launch on time. In R6 the mail router makes the booking immediately which makes it much better in avoiding double bookings. Don’t forget to launch one time the upgrade agent after you have upgraded the design to R6.
There is a bug in the R6 resource design that it does’t show your old reservation made in R4 design. To solve this issue, you need to adjust the view selection formula of the R6 resource design to show all reservations. Hereby the view selection formula to use:
SELECT (@Contains(Form; “Reservation”)) & @IsAvailable($BusyName)
