Hello,
I updated my resource reservation db from 4.5 to 6.5.2 (did all the steps that were provided in the knowledge base.)
I added a new room which needs the owner approuval for it to be reserved. My problem is that the owner doesn’t get an email to notify him that he has a reservation to approuve.
This appends when I do the reservation from my calendar.
If I go directly in the resource reservation db and make a reservation on the room directly then the email gets sent.
All of my reservation are going to be done from the calendar so I need for the email to work properly. Is there something that I forgot to do?
I would appreciate a fast answer since this is a rather urgent matter.
Thank you very much

Hello,
I looked at those documents before doing the upgrade and did it by the book.
When the owner goes in the resource reservation db and accept the reservation the user gets its approuval mail.
My problem is that the owner doesn’t get notified that he has a new reservation to approuve. So he has to go to the reservation db every hour to see if there are new reservation to approuve. That’s not very efficient.
Still my question is how do I get the owner to be notify when a new reservation is made from a calendar?

The router is the only process involve when you do your reservation via the calendar.
Question:
In Domino 4.5x/4.6x to get a timely response from the Resource Reservations database on requested reservations, you have to use the following parameters in the server’s Notes.ini:
Amgr_DocUpdateAgentMinInterval=2
Amgr_DocUpdateEventDelay=2
Amgr_NewMailEventDelay=2
Amgr_NewMailAgentMinInterval=2
Otherwise, the default response time without these parameters defaults to greater than 30 minutes. Are these parameters still necessary to process reservations requests in the Domino 6 Resource Reservations database?
Answer:
No. The Domino router is now coded to route meeting and reservation responses automatically. It is very quick.
Question:
In Domino 4.5x/4.6x the processing of reservations requested is controlled by a Notes agent called AutoProcessReservations. How are the reservations processed in Domino 6.x
Answer:
The Domino router is now coded to route meeting and reservation responses automatically. New Domino 6.x functionality is included in the code for the router to automatically process reservations (Resource Reservations database) and meeting notices (user mail files). There is no need to administer it. It is less overhead because there are no agents involved. However, it is still recommended that the Resource Reservations database not be placed on a Mail server or busy HUB server.
Have you define new rooms in your db? Maybe it’S the romm itself.
Have you done tell sched validate on your server?
Tell adminp process all on the admin server of your resource db to be sure that every change is uptodate

Hello again,
Still not working,
Here is what I did :
-
tell router quit
-
updated design on db
-
Select the Action : Upgrade in the db
-
load router
-
Created a new room with the owner’s name
-
tell adminp process all
-
made sure that the resource was in the names.nsf
-
tell sched validate
-
called a meeting with the resource reserved.
Still no email was sent to the owner saying he had a new resource to process.
I don’t know what to do next!

Is there any mail in the mail.box? You should see the mail sent by you to the reservation Db.
If you can stop your router, create a new reservation via your calendar and switch back immediatly to the mail.box.
EDIT: IS there any errors in the log.nsf (Routing, misc events)
Subject: RE: EDIT Reservation Database - Owner doesn’t receive email
Hi,
I stopped the router, the mail to the reservation db gets in the mail.box and then gets delivered normally to the reservation db.
When the request for the reservation gets in the mail-in, still no mail gets sent to the owner.

Did you put another owner name? Maybe there is multiple matches in the domino directory. Is your owner ever get renamed in the past? If so, do he have an old entry in his address book?
I think that your can trace your mail via the delivery option when you reserve a room.
Is there any error in the log.nsf?
If it’s a mail-in, maybe that your server is waiting to get enough messages to process them(Ex 5 messages stand-by).

Hi,
As a matter of fact, I changed the owner’s name, and there is no error messages in the log.nsf
Frankly, I don’t really know where to look. I’m starting to wonder if the owner ever gets an email!?!

Hi Merie-Claude,
I did a test. I’ve created a new room with a single owner. The owner received the request within a minute.

Hello,
It works!!!
I restarted the server yesterday and it worked immediatly.
Unfortunatly, in the information I found in the knowledge base and in notes.net, it only said to stop the router, and after the upgrade to start the router. I think that is enough only if the upgrade is from R5 to ND6. When you upgrade from 4.x to R5 or ND6, a restart of the server is needed.
Thank you for your help!
Bonne journée!
