If I send an email to an unknown internet address I will as expected get a Delivery Failure Report.
However this does not seem to contain the body of the original meesage, with the result that if I click Resend and amend the address to a valid internet address, the email will be blank at the recipient’s end.
If i send to an unknown domino Domain user, i get the Delivery Report along with the original message which can be resent without any problem. The problem just seems to be with external addresses.
Does anyone have any ideas where this error is occuring and what I can do to correct it?
Subject: Resend from Delivery Failure Report results in a blank message
Hi Scott,
I am having the same problem/have had this since running 7x client. I had hoped that it would resolve itself when I got my servers upgraded to 7.0 but that hasn’t been the case.
So if you find anything out, please be sure to post the solution, and I will do likewise.

I’m also getting this on a 6.5 server, but I think I’ve pinned it down to the SMTP relay host returning a blank delivery failure.
To check it I installed NetTool (www.nettool.org) on the server, changed the domino SMTP inbound port to 250 (and restarted the smtp task) and then fired up nettool and created a tunnel from port 25 to 250. This then showed the details of all the smtp communication coming into the the server. The delivery failure messages I caught coming in had no content at all.
Removing the relay host from the configuration resulted in the correct, populated failure messages. We’re using a btconnect relay host - could this be your issue also.
