is there a way to change Notes template in such way so “reply with history” and “reply to all with history” would drop attachment? this is causing people’s mailboxes to grow more then they need to where in most cases there is no reason to send back and forth same file attached to original email. I know users should use “… without attachment” but they don’t
Subject: what about a more generic solution?
You can manage to solve it using a more generic solution by don’t allowing more than X people from sending emails larger than Y MB. By this way you don’t care about making a reply with history to only 1 people, or to 10 persons but with a 1KB attachment.
There is a product called MK Email Size Limiter that will help you on this: www.zipmail.com

Subject: Here’s the way we did this
Go into design of $Inbox, Reply, reply with history, forward. Look for relevant shared actions in each of the above and simply swap the labels around so that the “reply” is really the action “reply without attachment” etc… You can also change the order in which these actions appear in the drop downs.
