When I reply to an e-mail, it will disappear from my inbox, and from the sent box. The only place it exists is in the all documents view. The e-mail is received by the intended viewer, but I want to be able to retain the original e-mail as well. Any ideas?

Have you clicked on the View Unread button to only display unread mails? In the user preferences have you may set to not keep the sent mails?

The view all is selected. Also, the sent mail is gone from the sent folder, as well as the original e-mail that was sent to me, that I replied to. The only place it stays is in the all documents view.

The most common thing I’ve seen to cause this is:
If you have clicked the headings of any of the columns (who, date, any of the unlabelled columns, etc.) of your Inbox:
then you have changed the sort order, and when you exit the message and refresh the Inbox, it is resorted per your column selections. You can tell if you changed the default sort order by the presence of a dark triangle on one of the sortable column headings.
For example, if you have clicked the column heading between Who and Date:
Then you are instructing Notes to sort your Inbox by whatever appears in that column. That column contains the icon that indicates whether you have forwarded or replied to a message. Once you forward or reply to a message, it receives that icon, so it becomes re-sorted to the top of your Inbox. You would have to scroll through your Inbox to discover where it now is in the sort order. Or, you can simply click the column heading again so that the column is no longer sorting your mail.

Hi,
I had the same problem once.
What I did was exit notes, and compact -C desktop, cache & bookmark.
Then you restart notes and, voila, they are all back…
To solve the problem for good, I’ve created a BAT file running it once in a while, when notes is not running.
