ReplID in formula vrs. LotusScript

Hi

I would like to use the ReplID of a database to open it. When doing lookups in the formula language I can either enter the database as “Server:Database” or simply using the ReplID. This is super as when I use the ReplID the local machine is seached first, then the servers etc. etc. In LotusScript the .OpenByReplicaID needs the server as the first parameter - is there any why (except doing it manually as I am currently doing it) to mimic the formula method?

Thanking you in advance

That is a feature of @Db functions. There are no equivalents in LotusScript.

If you specify the server as being “” it means ‘local’. For an agent running on a server that means the current server. Until recently agents could only access databases on the same server as they were running on so what you ask for made no sense.

BTW, If you revisit the help on @Dblookup you will find that they way the Notes Client selects which replica is

Lotus Domino searches for replicas in this order, using the first replica it encounters:

Workspace

If there is one replica on your workspace, Lotus Domino uses it.

If there are multiple, stacked replicas on your workspace, Lotus Domino uses the replica on top of the stack.

If there are multiple, unstacked replicas on your workspace, Lotus Domino looks for an icon matching your current server and uses that. If none of the icons matches your current server, Lotus Domino uses the icon that was added to your workspace first.

Current server

Locally (your hard disk)

Once a replica is located, it’s added to your workspace to save time on future lookups.
