I’ve created a local replica of a 1gb database. After the database is created locally, I try to replicate it with the server again. However, regardless whether I replicate with options or by using the background replicator, the message “Replicator error, Insufficient memory” appears.
The log file shows “Unable to replicate with server server1/ou/o: Insufficient memory.”
I’m pretty sure though there is sufficient memory and diskspace available on both the server and the client.
End dump - database: d:\Lotus\Domino\Data\acme.nsf
Error compacting acme.nsf: Insufficient memory.
When I examined Database Properties for the replicas on the servers, Server B had more documents.
I was able to create a database copy of the replica on Server B on local. This database copy had the same number of documents as the replica on Server B. I then replaced the replica on Server B with a replica from Local. Server B had a database I could compact without errors.
I set the replica ID on Server B to the be same as on Server A. I was then able to replicate the two databases. After replication, Server A’s replica had the same number of documents as Server B’s.
Clearly, there was a problem specific to the replica on Server B that was addressed by creating a database copy.
We had this problem with one user too.His mail file was 3GB and he has 15GB free space on his hard drive. However he did have some abnormally large documents in his mail file that were obviously giving the replicator problems individually.
The solution was simply to delete these huge emails and then it replicated no problem.
