Replicator doesn't replicate my Internet e-mail

[Background info: I am using IMAP to receive my internet mail, and SMTP to send it]

Hi everyone,

In the replicator window I have two icons - one to send e-mail, and one to receive e-mail. However - when I click replicate on the receive e-mail icon, nothing comes into my SBoyle mail database. When I am in the SBoyle mail database, pressing “Receive mail” from the bottom right “Quickpick” icon says “Receiving database 1 of 1…”. And then no e-mail comes in.

Currently, when I click the Mail bookmark, it loads the weird program that doesn’t let me switch to To Do or Calendar (no pull down menu). It looks to me like an old version of a mail database. Opening “Inbox”, the only folders are Drafts and Sent.

When I click “Refresh” here, it downloads e-mails fine. But when I then click replicate, no e-mails come into my SBoyle mail database. :frowning:

How can I get IMAP mail into my SBoyle mail database? Looking at the properties of this database, it said that the type was “Standard”. On my other strange program (that loads when I press the Mail bookmark), it says “IMAP Server Proxy” here. I changed it to this in my SBoyle mail database, but still, no e-mail comes in.

If anybody can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

From your address book, Advanced, open the Account that you must have created to use IMAP. Without editing it, click on the Open Proxy button at the top. This will open a live link to the IMAP server. This proxy also creates a local .NSF file with a name like 4358.NSF, where the number varies (randomly as far as I can tell).

To create a local replica, you need to replicate that file to a separate mail database. Just drag the live proxy link to your replicator page and Notes will create this new database automatically. That will be your local replica. The other file, while it appears to be a local .NSF file, is just a proxy for the live link to the IMAP server and not useable as a local database.
