Replication Problems with Citrix

Hello,

I’m new in this forum, and I have a problem:

I’m working with citix MF and Lotus Notes 6.0.1 CF1 and when I have a local replica of my mail, and open the replication view, my replica isn’t available to replicate with Start Now. I know that I could replicate my database in workspace-> Replication → Replicate, but users want to replicate in Replication view.

Could anyone help me?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,If you are providing Lotus Notes via Citrix why would you want a local replica? Assuming your Notes data directories are on a file server your local replica will be in that directory, but I don’t see why you would want to do this.

Hi Ashley,

The problem with the local replica is that my company’s president want to have his mail on his pc’s local drive, with the aim of consult his email anywhere.

Thanks.

OK. He is using a laptop then I assume rather than Citrix. He’s not using Notes via Citrix from his PC is he and also wanting a local replica? As soon as you have created a local replica on his PC you should automatically see his mail icon on the replicator tab. If it’s not there, the easiest thing to do is to create a new local replica. Have you also created another location (other the ‘office’) so that when he is working offline, Notes knows to open up his local replica? Also what method of remote access will he be using, e.g. Notes Direct Dial, RAS, VPN. The answer to this will also determine how the location document is configured.

Finally is his Notes data directory stored on the network or on his local hard drive?

Yes, he has another location (Disconected) to work offline. On the other hand, I created a new local replica, but when he logoff citrix, and logon again, his mail icon disappear. Do you know why?

His notes data directory is stored on network, but he has a copy on his local drive to work offline.

Sorry, but I’m confused!

When he is in the office he uses Citrix, do I undersand that correctly?. You then create a local replica which should create it in his local data directory. Do you see the mail file replica when you look in his data directory?

What mechanism are you using to copy his data directory? Do you copy everything including Notes.ini, bookmarks, etc. I don’t see how you can have the same data directory on his local machine and on the network since settings in there are going to be different, e.g. the notes data directory path.

Is this user on the same site as the Domino servers. If so, it may be easier to let him connect directly to Domino via his local Notes client rather than trying to mix both methods.

I was thinking about your questions, and my conclusion is that he couldn’t have exactly the same on network data directory and local data directory. Probably that’s the problem.

Thank you very much!
