Replication Issues

I am having Replication issues with a particular db. The db resides on a v6 server, however, all users are still v5.08. Not sure if this may cause problem. However, I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of why I’m getting Rep Conflicts when I believe I shouldn’t. Here’s what I did:

Yesterday I created a new replica to my local PC. I only have Author access, so I am unable to edit any documents. I tried opening a couple docs but was read only. I wasn’t able to edit anything if I wanted to. I came into work this morning and replicated with server and I created 88 new rep conflicts. Yes - the server runs agents at night which modified several docs, but I didn’t. My name doesn’t show up in $UpdatedBy to indicate that I modified anything. I’m confused and don’t know where else to look. Can the Rep Conflicts be corrupt? Is there a way to sync? I’m not the only one with this issue. Not sure what else to check.

Subject: Replication Issues

Hi Tim,

I’m not sure if it helps - just a few thoughts to your posting:

  • authors CAN edit docs, if there are listed in authors fields

  • where are these rep conflicts? only in your local rep or also on the server?

  • are there replicas on different servers? If yes, than look into the agents schedule properties: where do they run? On every server??
