Replication in hub/spoke topology

The environment with which I’m working is in a hub and spoke replication topology, i.e. the hub initiates replication and the spokes do not. I’m seeing in the spoke server log: 08/12/2008 08:22:51 AM names.nsf has not replicated (PULL) with ANY server since 01/07/2008 10:58:25 PM (5216 hours ago)

08/12/2008 08:22:51 AM names.nsf has not replicated (PUSH) with ANY server since 08/07/2008 01:25:00 PM (114 hours ago)

I know for a fact that the Directory has indeed replicated with the hub and the data is in synch. So, I suspect that this is being generated simply because the spoke server has not initiated replication. Can anyone verify, correct or shed any additional light?

Thanks so much!

Subject: Tune your DDM Probes

Yes, you’re right that these log entries just indicate that no replication has been initiated by your spoke server recently. They’re being genrated by the default scheudled replication probe in Domino Domain Monitoring. The best solution is to edit the probe’s configuration in the Monitoring Configuration database (events4.nsf) to better reflect the replication activities you want to monitor.

The default for this probe is to monitor replication for names.nsf, events4.nsf and admin4.nsf on all servers. You will want to change this just to montior your hub server (and any others that initiate replication of these databases). You can add additional instances of this probe to monitor other important replication activities if you need them.

Hope that helps,

Can you post the contents of the replication history for names.nsf on this server?
