Replication failure from clustered server to non-clustered

I have a 3 mail server environment with 2 in a cluster and the third working as the replica backup server (shut down Domino and run regular backup). AdminP requests are not creating a replica from the primary email server to the backup server without giving me an error. I have a connection document from the one clustered server pushing to the replica server but all I keep getting in the Admin Requests db is:

Received the status – Source and destination servers are not clustered – trying to create mail\gallende.nsf on Corp-Alt-45/CAICORP; a replica creation request has been generated for further processing.

This has been there for 6 days. I see no errors to get a better understanding of why this won’t work.

Thanks for any suggestions.

There should be another administration request in the admin4.nsf of type “create replica” (as opposed to “accelerated create replica”).

Ensure that the admin4.nsf is replicating as necessary between all servers in your domain.

Ensure that the task adminp is running on all your servers.

Check that the create replica request does in fact exist.

Ensure that the connection document that exists will in fact replicate the new database on the third server.

While we are at it: Why don’t you use an approved third party backup tool for live backups? This will give you improved recovery options. Replication to another server is not really backup (and the cost is a redundant third set of data in your case).

Thanks Ben - The Admin4.nsf on the 3rd server was not a replica of the other Admin4 db’s. I replaced it and now they are working.

This third server is not how we back up but since our backups using Backup exe for Domino was takng >24 hours we worked out creating replicas on this third server, shutting Domino down, backing up the files, and restarting Domino overnight. Only takes 2-3 hours now.
