A user can remotely connect directly to his mail server but replication fails on connecting to that same server. I’ve checked all the location and connection documents and all are correct.
Has anyone seen this before?

There was no error message, it just said “Connecting to …”.I eventually found out from the user that he was using Internet Sharing on Windows XP, and that the sharing computer was in the same local IP range as the server. He had 2 connection documents one with the local address of the server and the other with the public address. We removed the local address connection document: problem solved.
