Is there a command line or other mechanism that will perform a replication without starting the notes client? (outside of using a domino server).
Subject: Replicate without running the client
Just to close the thread for now… I wrote a vbscript to do this:
’ **************************************
’ Purpose: Startup a Notes Replication
’ without having to load the
’ notes client
’ **************************************
Dim session
Dim db
Set session=createObject(“Lotus.NotesSession”)
Call session.Initialize(“mailfile password”)
set db=session.getDatabase(“”,“c:.…mailfile location &name.nsf”)
call db.replicate(“server”)

Anybody find a way to have Notes send outgoing mail from mail.box via vbscript?
I’ve tried:
Set session=createObject(“Lotus.NotesSession”)
Call session.Initialize(“password”)
set db=session.getDatabase(“”,“c:\notes\data\mail.box”)
call db.replicate(“servername”)
but I get a message that the server doesn’t have a replica of that db… (which sorta makes sense) Thanks!

I suppose in theory you could copy the nreplica.exe from the server and use it in a batch file - I am not sure what kind of behavior you would get but its worth a try.

Basically, I have a secondary machine (with the notes client) that I occassionally use but I would like to keep local replicas of a few key DB’s that I have in synch with the server / other machines. All this without having to install Domino on the machine or to keep the notes client running all the time…
Thanks!

I’m not quite sure what your exact requirements are but you could use Domino Off-Line Services to replicate using a web browser. More information on this can be found in Domino Administrator Help database.
