I have just installed notes 8.5 client on some macs (10.5.4 – fresh install of OS and notes) and I am intermittently getting this message on all replicas.
Message on the replicator page:
not authorized to open destination database
I delete the replica and then the message does not appear for that database, but the one before it.
Can help would be great!!!

This is a problem with the Recent Contacts synchronization that uses replication to keep up to date.The status is incorrectly being reported for the database being replicated, instead of the internal synchronization of the dynamic contacts. The replication of the database itself will not be affected.

Running 8.5 gold on Windows Vista. Upgraded over the top of 8.0.2.

I have noticed that even though I get the error message, I still actually end up with documents being replicated to my local database.
It can be intermittent between replications. Ie, sometimes the database will not display the error (or it will shift to a different database).

Removed the database icon from the replicator page and added it again (dragged over from workspace), seemed to fix the problem.

Running 8.5 gold on Windows XP. Upgraded over the top of 8.0.2.
Subject: Possible Workaround
I had the same issue. I got curious and created a new location document, which has a new replicator page. No more errors. If I switch back to the old location document the errors return.
