Replacing controlled access section for web form

Hi,

I have a form that I’m web-enabling and I’m runninginto a little dilemna on the security of a certain field. Previously, the field was secured by a controlled access section, which doesn’t work on the web. I need Managers to be able to edit the field at all times, and non-Managers should only be able to read it. Here are the kickers:

  1. The app has to have “open in Edit mode” checked…this prevents using hide-when functionality with multiple fields.

  2. Managers have Author access, which limits using Security functionality at the field level for Editor access.

Any other creative ways to secure this field from my non-Managers?

Wesley,

Just use [roles] and have two versions of the field. Either use html to do this, or make Field1 and Field2, where Field1 is a read-only version and Field2 is the editable version.

thanks Raphael. I thought of that right after I submitted this, but you beat me to it.
