Replace Design of Database Script not working

HelloI am trying to replace design of a mailfile using a customized template. the template contain modification to “Database Script”

When I do a replace design, the changes that are in the template are not applied to the mailfile.

I have tried re-saving the scriptlibrary in both the template and mailfile and I can see in the statusbar that the scriptlibrary is updating during the replace design action but the changes are not applied

The mail template is mulitlanguage “swedish” and “English” so when I do a replace design I am prompted for which language I want to use, I have tried all combinations, only Swedish, Only English and both.

I am using 8.5.1 client, both the mailfile and the template is based on stdR851 version

Below image show the template. The highlighted scriptcode is not added to the mailfile during replace design, what’s wrong?

Subject: Known issue

Reported in SPR: RSTN7XELXY.

Normal process is to work from your primary language template then push out the changes to your released multi-lingual template.

Both database scripts are still there, you just can only see one.

One suggestion:

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is sample is provided only to illustrate one way to approach this issue. IBM Support will not be able to customize this for a customer’s own configuration. While this may work for some customers it is offered as a suggestion only, and is not something that IBM Lotus software supports further.

  1. Move the two database scripts out to separate templates. Best way to do this is to create individual language templates to work on where only the database script is modified.

  2. Delete the database scripts from your pre-release multi-lingual template (pre-build).

  3. When your ready to release your multi-lingual template then paste in both scripts into your pre-build template and sign and ship.

Subject: Solved

My solution was to use Ytria,

in Ytria I could see both database scripts and could make changes to them.

Ytria is great!

Subject: which component of Ytria did you used ?

Facing a similar issue, I download the trial version of Ytria. Which component of Ytria did you use to modify your databasescript ?

Subject: scanEZ lets you see all the designs

Hi Cyril,I hope this response isn’t too late…

It looks to me like he used Ytria scanEZ (Getting Started with scanEZ). Its tree view gives you the ability to see all of an application’s designs without restriction (in contrast to the Designer client which only shows you the designs that match your current language).

Best,

Peter
