Rename user that uses outlook

Dear all,

Lotus domino server 8.02 run on windows 2003.

Lotus notes client 8.02/8.5/8.51 run on windows.

Ms Outlook 2003 run on windows.

We want to rename several users to another OU, I do not have with the lotus notes client, but there is question regarding users that uses outlook as their mail client.

Is the rename users still the same way? because based on notes help

“Note By default, the new name is accepted automatically upon next server authentication.”

I’m not really sure how outlook client authenticated with the domino server, except with pop3.

I found out that users that uses outlook downloading their old emails. it seems that renaming OU change their read/unread status.
