Any one know why a renamed notes account reverts to its original? (and keeps doing so)
The user has accepted the name change…

Kinda means what it says.An email account created for Jane Doe
Jane got married and wanted the name of the account changed to Jane Stag
The rename of the account was successful, Jane accepted the name change and all was right with the world.
A month or so later, the person doc reverted by its self to Jane Doe, with no reference to the name change.
We have renamed the account several times. Each time it is successful, then, sometime later it reverts

The user accepted the change but did she receive a new ID file? And did here ID file some how revert to the old one??

Hi Ken,as far as I know, all is grand after the rename. ID updated etc…
We had thought what if she had accessed her email from another pc- that has the old ID, and this somehow reverted the name change.
Thing is, how could an ID file do anything remotely like this?
We have seen this reverting issue before. 99% of the time everything is fine… the other times…
The only way we THINK we can get around it is to manually edit the account, person doc etc.
The change seems to stick then.

Domino 7 “fixes” this - name reversions have to be approved by an admin in admin4.nsf.

There is also a hotfix available for 6.5 that stops automatic reverts - although you may need a maintenance contract to get it.
