Rename not updating the mail file owner timely

When I do a rename on a person they have various problems related to the fact the “This mail file belongs to:” field is not updated with any sort of timeliness or consistency. Can I speed this process up or do I have to change it manually and does changing it manually cause any other problems with the automatic process?

tell adminp process all

or

tell adminp process new
