Is there a setting that can be changed so that when I “Reply to All” the email will not include my address in the distribution list?

That is the default. I never get mail to myself when I reply to all.
I think though I read somewhere if the sender used a group with the recipients name from their persona address book, it does send it to you even if you are the replier.

This sounds familiar. If the members of the group were picked from the NAB I don’t think you will be included on the reply to all. But if the names were typed in manually you might be included on the reply to all. I think the names are stored as abbreviated in group documents when selected correctly and this also allows AdminP to rename, delete, etc. Check to see if your name in the group appears abbreviated (Paul Nutt/Notes) and not something else (Paul Nutt, paul.nutt@domain.com, etc.).
