Remote pathname must be relative to data directory

When trying to use the “Creating a certifier for a server-based CA” procedure I followed the instructions:

  1. From the Domino Administrator, click Configuration.

  2. On the Tools pane, select Registration - Internet Certifier.

  3. In the Register Internet Certifier dialog box, select “I want to register a new Internet certifier that uses the CA process.”

After filling the req. fields, I pressed the OK-Button with the result “Remote pathname must be relative to data directory”. This reflects to the “Name of the ICL-Database to be created” field.

Any suggestions?

I tried from another machine with the same Setup which is not logged into our Windows Domain and it immedeately worked.

When creating CA’s, an individual db is created for every certifier you import. You can see your ICL’s usually in a folder under your data directory (called ICL).

If you have hardcoded the path of your resulting ICL database to be created, then remove that and just reference ICL/newiclname.nsf. Just like when you create a new mail database, it just needs to know what folder it’s to live in UNDER the data folder.

Thanks, but I did exacly what you recommended.

It is realy weird, creating databases is normaly not a problem, of course.

Any other suggestions?
