we wanted to give someone an administrator access but with restrictions. he would only use the compact command. no other server commands will be given to him.
what access will we give him? please help…
we don’t want to give him a full remote access administrator.

These are the administrator types in R6/6.5. Look through them and decide, consult the Admin Help Database for more details:
Full access administrators - Names listed in this field will have the highest level of administrative access to the server. These users will be able to perform all administrative tasks.
(b) Administrators - Names listed in this field will have the same privileges as the Database Administrator and Full Remote Console Administrators. Additionally, these users can use the Web Admin tool, manage message tracking, and use the console to remotely administer UNIX servers.
(c) Database administrators - Names listed in this field will have administrative access to databases. Among other tasks, these users can compact databases, create indexes, set database properties, and create replicas. This setting will allow you to set database quotas.
(d) Full remote console administrators - Names listed in this field will be able to take advantage of the remote server console.
(e) View-only administrators - Names listed in this field will be able to use the remote server console to issue only those commands that show system status. These commands begin with ‘show’. These users cannot issue ‘tell’ commands. This setting will not allow you to set database quotas.
(f) System administrators - Names listed in this field will be able to issue operating system commands on the server. This setting will not allow you to set database quotas.
(g) Restricted system administrators - Names listed in this field will be able to issue only the operating system commands listed in the Restricted system commands field. This setting will not allow you to set database quotas.
