Hi Guys
We have released a Freeware Notes/Domino database web site called
www.oznotes.net
This site is going to provide Freeware applications with the first suite of 3 databases released in 7 days time.
We will be releasing more ASAP.
The site will be relying heavily on a community approach for feedback and quality control.

Subject: 1. Welcome and sounds great! 2) " Freeware applications", why not leverage OpenNTF instead of providing another option?
Subject: Actually I find OpenNTF difficult to navigate
I find OpenNTF a little difficult to navigate, so I’m pleased to see alternative offerings.
Subject: Have you provided them feedback?
Subject: I have provided feedback
Yes Alan, I’ve provided feedback but it looks like they’re following a fairly standard template for development (I’ve seen similar througout the open source community) - so it obviously works for some people.
My feeling is that tabs should only show if there is something on them. (eg: If there’s no documentation or no screenshots then there’s no reason to offer me an empty tab to click on).
Also, the project list is too linear and could benefit from being displayed as categories or galleries.
Subject: I have provided feedback as well !!!
I agree with Gavin, although my experience has been a little different.
I signed up to openNTF months ago now & my password went “missing”, I contacted them a number of times & got no joy. So I still cannot login.
Plus I have given away applications before - see www.ngrant.com - the original version of 2k7tools was open source & I was flooded with people asking how can they do this & how can they do that.
When you are new to a application it take weeks if not months to get up to speed with the code, you need to take the time to “read” the code & most people dont, they just flick you a email asking if you can provide them with a code snippet.
The applications will not be provided as Open Source until we can see from the forums that people have taken the time to really learn how the applications integrate with each other.
No one has even taken the time to register with the forums !!!
So it is up to the notes/domino development community - MS are slowly migrating organisation away from notes/domino & we all need to work together to put a stop to the slide.
