Relay host error: Router: DNS server returned an error searching for MX records

Hi,

for some days I get the following error message while restarting the mailrouter:

Router: DNS server returned an error searching for MX records. The destination domain may not exist: 127.0.0.2, Error: Non-existent domain(NXDOMAIN)

I have postfix running on 127.0.0.2 as relayhost, and there can not be an mx record for it.

Some mails pass through, many bounce.

Why does domino mx resolution for its relayhost?

Thank you!

Nicole

Subject: Re:

Same for me …

Something strange is that even if we see this error message at the console it’s apparently not recoreded in the log.nsf …

Just after this error message we get another error msg like :

Event: Failed to send mail to xxxxx: Unable to find path to server. Check that your network connection is working. If you have a working connection, go to Preferences - Notes Ports and click Trace to discover where it breaks down.

For the second error msg, I think it’s related to the probes defined in the events4.nsf db.

2 or 3 minutes after the startup all message stop to appear en everything goes ok …

I’m getting the same message when I use an IP address for the relay host or if I use two relay hosts separated with a semicolon (one IP and one hostname or both hostnames cause the same error). Emails, however, seem to get routed correctly.

I haven’t been able to find any references to this error message in the knowledge base.

Any ideas on how to solve it?

thanks,

Andreas
