Reg: Replying the mail problem

Dear All,

I am facing a problem when i sent a mail to external id (Yahoo/Hotmail) i am not receiving the mails.

Instead i check with my personal id, when i reply to my office id its showing sethu_raman_acc/abc_group_91 instead of sethu.raman@abc.com

Infact i checked in the SMTP Configuration document and works perfectly/checked in the person document on server.

Everything is fine and please suggest me where i went wrong.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Sagun,

Thanks for ur quick response.

I do have a global domain document and in that

Internet address lookup:

If disabled or no match, Enabled

Local part formed from: Short name

Do i have to make any changes in the global document, pl tell me the exact cause for this problem.

Hi Sethu,

Mostly likely the cause is the global configuration document is not configured correctly.

Do you have your Local primary Internet domain: set as your domain name.

ie.

Local primary Internet domain:xvy.com

The one you have mentioned is a configuration document for your server. I am reffering to Global Document in the Domains view of your address book.

Hi Sagun,

Yea i too referred to global domain document.

Local Primary Intenet Domain is our domain name (abc.com).

any thing to be checked.

Hi Sethu,

You need one global doc and one foreign smtp domain to relay message. How are you relaying u messages … make sure u location document has the correct e-mail address in the Internet mail address.

The global doc has below settings.

Internet address lookup:

If disabled or no match, Disabled

convert as follows:

Local part formed from: Full name

Domino domain(s) included: One

Domino domain(s) position: Left of ‘@’

Domino domain separator: % - percent sign

Address example: “Jane M. Doe” JMD%dom1@acme.com

NOTE: The following settings are not used in R5. They only apply to R4.x SMTP MTAs

Outbound mail restriction: Unrestricted

Address format: Name and Address

Hi,

Does your Domino domain name have spaces in it and have you upgraded recently? It looks to me like your Domino domain is called “abc group 91”. In older releases of Notes it was ok to have a space in your Domain name but not any more. I had to do a complete Domain rename b’cos of the same problems you’re describing with your internet mail.

Thanks,

Em.
