I have a Notes system that has a child document that when created most fields are ComputedWhenComposed inheriting data from the parent document. What is the best way to refresh the fields in the child document if the parent document fields get changed?

Refreshing will update computed fields but not ComputedWhenComposed ones. That is my issue.

In a non-relational db, I don’t know that there is a generic best way, but fortunately there are myriad possibilities, such as:1) QuerySave code in the parent doc that tracks whether these fields have been changed and updates the child docs
-
Agent that runs periodically and checks for same
-
Make the fields in the parent doc accessible only by clicking something (popup) which would save values to both the parent and child docs

If you want the fields to change with each change of the parent change the fields to Computed then run a refresh agent on all child docs in a view.
Computed when composed if for computing the value the first time or to hold information that you are writing to this field with buttons, hot spots, etc…
