SCENARIO:In database “A” I have stub documents that contain meta-data.
In database “B” I have douments matching those in “A”, but in addition have attachments.
The “B” document is accessed by a doclink on the “A” document. (auto-launch)
Work in general is done on the “B” document.
When a “B” document is saved, the “A” document is altered to reflect any changes. Control then returns to Database “A”.
BUT …
The Views in database “A” do not change.
The Views reflect the status of the documents.
SO …
How can I update the UIView in another database?
Subject: Front end or back end?
If you have the view open in the front end, you can use workspace.ViewRefresh() and it acts like a refresh of the view.
If you want to refresh from the back end, you can use NotesView.Refresh.

Since they’re in different databases, I’ve found no solution. As a result we’re doing a work-around.
Subject: Look at the Mail template.
My guess is that you need the other users in database A to see the changes that were made in database B after one user changes something. Is that correct?
If so, then look at the Mail template and how the Inbox gets automatically refreshed when there is new mail. That may give you a clue. It won’t be immediate, but it is at least something.

I’ll check that out. Thanks.
