Refresh Issue? Please help - thx

Hello all,

Can anyone suggest why when I make a change on my embedded view, the changes dont appear?

I have created a form and inserted an embedded view which displays information regarding which user is assigned to which call problem.

If I go into a field within the embedded form and re-assign a new user to a problem, save the changes, the new user that I had assigned does not appear to have changed. I have also tried hitting F9 and it still remains as the old user. I have noticed that if i go back into the same field to view the assigned users, the change i had made appears.

How do i resolve this problem so that the changes made appear on the embedded view?

BTW this is in Notes…

Thanks

Just to make sure I’m understanding. Are you changing a field on the form and then want the embedded view to show a different set of documents or are you changing a vallue on one of the documents on the embedded view and want to see that change on the embedded view?

I’ve never tried the first case, but I’m guessing the whole view selection formula is only set at the time of loading. I’ve never looked to see if there is some type of update value on keyword change for embedded views.

Hello.

Your second guess was right…

I am changing a value on one of the documents on the embedded view and want to see that change on the embedded view?

Is there an easy solution to this?

Thanks

First, I want to double check the F9 you clicked. Before you click F9 click on any document in the embedded view and then hit F9. Do you see the update then?

I’m expecting yes. As I have embedded vuews and they do update in my case (of course there maybe a setting or something else we have different).

The form with the embedded view is it open in edit mode or just read mode?

If it’s read mode edit the document and then hit F9 and see if it update?

In my case what I have happening is the user edits one of the documents on the embedded view, they make the changes.

When control is returned to the form, I determine if they are in edit mode. If not, note this, place the document in edit mode do a refresh and return the document to read mode. If they are in edit mode just refresh.

Hi,

I have tried both your suggestions and the updates dont appear at all. Its only when I go into the field within the view that i can see the changes.

I have ensured that Ive not selected anything when pressing F9 and no changes are updated.

Also when i click on a field within the embedded view, the document is in read mode. However, when i click on the edit action button that i created, the form goes into edit mode and this is when i make the changes. I then click on the save and close action button, where the form with the embedded view is displayed. This however, still does not show any changes made.

Any other ideas?

I am very greatful for the help you have given so far…
