Refresh field - @DBColumn

I have this @DbColumn which work ok.But there is a problem.

Before the user uses the @DbColumn (lookup) he sets the Server and DB-values in a field which in order comes before the “@DbColumn-field”. This is done through a @Picklist from another doc.(view).

The problem is that I must press F9 in order to get the correct Server and DB-values in the “@DbColumn-field”.

I have tried to have the Server and DB-field values computed and editable. These fields are hidden.

Server := MyServer

DB := MyPath;

@If(!@IsNewDoc & @IsDocBeingLoaded; @Unavailable; @Unique(@DbColumn

(“”:“NoCache”; Server:DB; “LookupClients”; 1)))

Andreas,

The “NoCache” is irrelevant to this, but you’ll have to do something like:

  1. Use AutoCalc on your form (I don’t like this)

  2. When the user chooses the server/db they should do so in a field which “refreshes fields” and then your @Db should be in a field which “refreshes choices”

  3. My favorite would be to have a button which pops up a dialog box and lets the user choose all this stuff. This way, your performance on the main document will be unaffected for future edits and reads !

Thank you.I tried your sugestion 2).

If the server/db-field should have an “refresh fields …”-alternative it must be a “dialog-list-field”- or?

Anyway I get the same result as previously - that is it does not work. I have to press F9 to refresh.

The first choice the user does - the server and db - is done by an actionbutton which does a lookup (@PickList) and sets the server and db-value.

The solution to this problem I have found is refreshing the document when entering the field in which I have the @DbColumn.Is this method OK in this context?

Sub Entering(Source As Field)

Dim workspace As New NotesUIWorkspace

Dim uidoc As NotesUIDocument

Set uidoc = workspace.CurrentDocument

Call uidoc.Refresh

End Sub

Use @command([ViewRefreshFields]) after @picklist.

I guess it work… let us know.
