Redirect users to another server, but to another replicaID of db?

Hello,

I have a little head-ache:) This is not a ‘newbie question’:), maybe someone can help.

Some background. International corporation using LN for years with multi-domain instalation but with centralized certificates.

I just moved some people from server in one domain to the other domain. Everything smoothly…

But… those people were replicating dircat.nsf from old server. Their new server has also dircat.nsf (even with the same corporate content), but this is another db, with different ReplicaID.

Old server was 6.5.4 I’m going to upgrade it to 8.0.2 tomorrow (all users were migrated) just to turn on “Redirect marks” for their mail files (although I send them a button with a script changing servers name in Locations, some of their clients still replicating with old server).

Does anybody have some idea how to automatically ‘redirect’ their LN clients to replicate dircat.nsf with a new server ???

I can’t do Redirect, because this is another replicaID…

As I see in Designer help, notesDatabase.CreateReplica will rise an error if a database already exist. If I give dircat.nsf new local name, maybe it will work… but… any experience? (I’m talking about creating a button for a user, to creating new replica of Directory Catalog on their PC’s)

The only idea I have is to create a replica of their old dircat.nsf to the new server and do a “redirect” from old server. But this will lead to the situation of having 2 dircat’s on new server, and AFAIK dircat task server will only serve one of them.

It is not big deal, it’s just few dowzens of users, but I’m thinking how other multi-domain organizations have resolved the issue of moving bunch of users between domains?
